Good Morning Troop 282 families!
We’ve completed our first full day of summer camp and are just starting our second. I am so excited for THIS group of scouts and THESE adults to learn and grow together this week!
Mason is doing great filling as acting SPL, and it’s absolutely heart warming to see his entire patrol helping him with all the little things that need to happen to make camp go.
The camp food is well…I mean – the best I’ve ever experienced, and the entire staff has been ridiculously accommodating to every single food, medical and housekeeping request we’ve had.
The entire troop has especially enjoyed seeing troop 282 alum and current working on staff this week including Aiden, Nick and Natalie.
Yesterday was filled with merit badges, trading post, evening astronomy presentation (our camp guide is an actual legit astronomer!), crabbing, camp fire, and troop rifle time.
Today we are all wearing our Troop 282 tie dye shirts! Will be doing troop swimming, “whale hunting”, baton making and the one I’m REALLY excited for – Tomahawk throwing!!!
I’ll try and send out some more photos as the day goes on to parents of scouts.
Everyone will be working hard to stay hydrated – and we are all looking forward to another great day at Parsons!
Best Wishes,
Ms. Gill
