Troop 282 Families,
Yesterday was jam packed non-stop adventure!
I am delighted to report that we had two Scouts successfully complete the wilderness survival overnight experience. We also had a scout pass a leadership review, pending the submission of his paperwork!
Scouts spent their morning at merit badges after our awesome hot cocoa bar.
Now prepare yourself for the funniest thing that happened yesterday…a VERY expensive yacht is anchored right off the beach. Yesterday evening the camp had a “beach bonanza” near the pier, with a dance party, face paint, volleyball, etc.. The people on the boat called 911 with a noise complaint (at 7:30 pm)!!!! The call was routed to the local sheriff who called the camp. I’ve believe the conversation went something like this:
Sherrif: “Hey Frank, I got a noise complaint from a yacht – is everything ok out there at your camp?”
Frank: “Yes! We’re having a great time at our Beach Bonanza”
Sheriff “That’s what I thought – have a good day”
Frank: “You too!”
The entire camp is in giggles that a boat would park off the shore of a SCOUT camp, and then complain about noise…clearly someone put some tap water in their Evian bottles…
So now your children can legitimately say that they were at such a rager of a party that the police were called! And knowing these kids – this is likely the only time in their life they’re going to be able to claim that.
